chum salmon recipe challenge! (really!!!)
Our good pals at the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife are currently sponsoring a Chum Salmon recipe challenge. Uh.... well... OK.
...it being a blog regarding fly fishing for trout, salmon, steelhead, carp and other fine fishes typed in a 169% badass literary stylee. Published for your amusement from West Seattle, WA...

Here's my entry. Guaranteed to improve the taste of Chum salmon
1) Take 1 chum salmon -- oh hell, use two, they're easy to catch
2) grind into a paste. A blender works best, but if you don't have a blender, just put it in a ziplock and drive over it with your pickup a few times.
3) feed the paste to coho salmon fingerlings.
4) wait 2-3 years until the coho return from the ocean.
5) catch the coho, kill, and prepare using your favorite recipe.
let's face it -- chums are a hoot to fish for, but they bite the big one as foodstuffs.

Chum and Chips.
Just deep fry chunks of chum and serve with fries. Hell, shoe leather would be good if you deep fried it.
